Professional Bio
I am a Cloud Architect passionate about how technology shapes the future of business. With a focus on creating secure, scalable cloud solutions, I approach each decision with a balance of user experience and business strategy. I believe lasting impact comes from aligning technical depth with broader organizational goals. With a background in Product Design, I’ve launched multiple products that align user needs with business goals, ultimately driving revenue growth.
I have worked on cloud infrastructure projects that improved scalability, optimized performance, and enhanced security. My work is fueled by a vision to combine technical excellence with social impact, ensuring businesses, communities, and future tech leaders thrive in an ever-evolving digital world.
What inspired you to pursue a career in architecture, and how has your journey been so far?
A few years ago, while working at a design studio, I created products and watched developers bring my designs to life. This sparked my curiosity about the connection between design, infrastructure, and technology and led me to explore cloud computing shaping my path in architecture.
One of the best pieces of advice I’ve received is to embrace challenges, ask questions, and speak up, there’s nothing to lose by trying. This mindset has helped me grow, take bold steps, and lead with confidence.
What skills and traits do you think make a great architect?
A great architect thinks strategically, communicates effectively, and drives alignment. They make technical decisions that support business goals and convey them clearly, turning vision into impact.
How do you navigate leadership, influence, and impact as a woman or ally in architecture?
Influence, for me, comes through action like writing impactful articles (through my blog - Cloud, Code, & Curiosity), speaking at events, and engaging in conversations that challenge norms and push the industry forward. I believe success in this field isn’t just about personal achievement; it’s about creating pathways for others to follow.
Impact goes beyond technical solutions. I’m committed to bridging the diversity gap by mentoring and advocating for underrepresented talent, especially Black women in tech. My role as an ambassador for Coding Black Females is just one way I contribute to this mission.
What’s one myth about being a woman in architecture that you’d like to debunk?
"Architecture is difficult, and it’s not a field where women can thrive." This simply isn’t true. Architecture, like any other field, requires a mix of creativity, strategic thinking, and technical expertise: qualities that anyone, regardless of gender, can bring to the table. Women in architecture, and in tech more broadly, continue to prove that diverse perspectives drive innovation and excellence. With the right support, mentorship, and opportunities, women can not only succeed but also lead and shape the future of the industry.
What skills, tech, or certifications are you investing in this year, and why?
I'm focusing on expanding my skill set with 3 AWS certifications and CompTIA Security+
How can leaders and organizations build a more inclusive pipeline for women entering and growing in architecture?
To build a more inclusive pipeline for women in architecture, leaders and organizations must start by actively challenging stereotypes and recognizing the unique strengths and perspectives that women bring to the field. It’s essential to offer clear orientation and mentorship, helping women navigate their career paths while empowering them to lead and be heard.
Organizations can set concrete targets for hiring and retaining women in architecture, ensuring that diversity is a priority at every level. By creating a supportive environment, providing equal growth opportunities, and fostering open dialogue, women will feel encouraged to take on leadership roles. Additionally, fostering a culture that values diverse perspectives allows everyone, regardless of gender, to contribute meaningfully and thrive.
What future trends in architecture and technology should architects prepare for to stay ahead in the industry?
To stay ahead in the industry, architects should prepare for the integration of AI and quantum computing. AI is becoming an essential tool, helping architects automate processes, improve decision-making, and stay competitive. Similarly, while quantum computing is still emerging, it has the potential to disrupt areas like security, design optimization, and DevOps practices. By embracing these technologies now, architects can gain a competitive edge and remain leaders in innovation as the industry evolves.
